Easiest way to clean your tackle box?
Well my tackle box has just been deep cleaned by my gf. Like lysol, orange smelling crap, i dont even know. Well it smells heavenly clean now. And im pretty damn sure fish do not like it and will not bite a hook smelling like that even tho there is a nice bloody cut up spot on it.
So yea i need to clean everything. Hooks, leaders, sinkers, knifes. Tackle box hinges, nooks, and crannies.
I was thinking of just washing it all with water a few times. And then buying a fish from a store and just rubbing the guts all over everything. I also heard WD40 is fish oil so if i spray everything with that will it be enough to cover the scent?
What do you guys think?
I'd get a small bucket of hot water and throw all the lures and anything that will go into the water into the bucket. Let it set in there and then rinse that stuff with hot water. Maybe give it a light squirt of WD40, sure, can't hurt. Any packets or papers are going to hold on to that Lysol smell... not sure what to do about that. Swab the empty tacklebox out with hot soapy water, let everything dry, and put it all back together.
Next thing you do is put it somewhere your girlfriend won't find it.
After that, you get her purse and those fishguts you were talking about...
